Roger Federer said this week that it doesn't bother him when he shanks a backhand. When it's out, it's out and it doesn't matter by how much.
Richard Gasquet may beg to differ. The Frenchman mishit a backhand so badly during his second-round match on Thursday that it landed nearly 20 rows up in the stands at Court Suzanne Lenglen. It looked like a foul ball off the bat of Bryce Harper rather than a backhand off the frame of a Yonex.
They usually make fans throw back balls that go into the stands. When you're that high up, they need to make an exception.
