Rafael Nadal hit Novak Djokovic in the face with a ball during their semifinal match in Canada

In what was a pretty epic non-Grand Slam match, Rafael Nadal hit Novak Djokovic in the face with a backhand shot near the net on Saturday at the Rogers Cup.

Nadal, who went on to win the match 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (2), hit a drop shot in the third set that forced Djokovic to come to the net, and after hitting his own drop shot back to Nadal, got a little more tennis ball than he probably anticipated.

Djokovic tried his hardest to get a racket on the ball, but it ended up smacking him in the face, and the No. 1 player in the world was visibly upset about it.

Of course, there was no bad blood when the match ended, with both players have a nice embrace at the net, with Novak saying after his match, "Whenever we play against each other, it’s always a thrilling match for the crowd to see. We are both competing at the high level. We both want to win these matches.”
