Jerzy Janowicz and Lukasz Kubot exchange an incredible moment of sportsmanship at Wimbledon

On Wednesday at Wimbledon, two Polish men were playing each other to become the first from their country to make it to the semifinals of this famed tournament.

Jerzy Janowicz, 22, ended up beating Lukasz Kubot, 31, in straight sets, but it was what happened afterwards that was the most impressive.

Janowicz collapsed after winning match point, and while the moment took him over, Kubot walked over to Janowicz's side of the court to embrace him and congratulate him.

Moments like these are why we watch and love sports. It's why we sit through criminal charges to this athlete or that one, and why we endure arguments, flopping and fights between players. We listen to players grunt and scream after points or throw golf clubs in hopes that a moment like this might break between the clouds and allow us the opportunity to enjoy it.

Janowicz and Kubot are Davis Cup partners, friends, and countrymen that support one another. While Kubot was certainly disappointed it wasn't him that advanced to play Andy Murray in the semifinals of Wimbledon, the way he handled it, and the moment the two shared was exactly why we love tennis, sports and competition.
