Rafael Nadal defeated Nicolas Almagro on Wednesday to advance to the French Open semifinals, improving his career record at the event to a staggering 50-1. He has yet to drop a set and hasn't been broken since the middle of his opening match.

In other words, Rafa has been his usual dominant self on the red clay of Roland Garros. But how do his first five matches of 2012 compare to the other six times he's won the tournament? Pretty favorably. This is the fourth time he's made it to the semis without dropping a set. And his 30 games lost are the second-fewest ever through the quarters, a few behind his total in 2008, when he steamrolled through the field en route to a 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 win over world No. 1 Roger Federer in the final.

There aren't many stats that could be daunting to potential finalists Novak Djokovic and Federer than Nadal's 50-1 record in Paris, but here's one that comes close: Rafa has won his last 45 sets on red clay.
