Venus Williams made her first stop to Conan O'Brien's new TBS show on Thursday night (and looked mighty good in the process). She discusses her barely there French Open dress, and pitches some sort of video game all while the guy from "The Social Network" looks as surly as the real Mark Zuckerberg:

The eight finalists at the unfortunately acronymed ATP World Tour Finals (WTF) put on their Sunday bests on Thursday evening to take some promotional photographs around London. Their first stop, 10 Downing Street, where the men posed for a group shot while waiting for Prime Minister David Cameron to answer the door:

Kudos to Ferrer for opting to go with the gray suit. He's like the kid on class picture day who cut his hair into a mohawk and dressed in a Bart Simpson "Cowabunga, Dude" T-shirt.

The entire picture is sort of strange given that none of the players are looking at the camera. Were they all looking at Andy Murray's mom who was also snapping pictures on her Funsaver?

For a time, Rafael Nadal was only the second most famous tennis player from the small Spanish island of Mallorca.

Carlos Moya, born nine years before Nadal, was the first; winning the French Open in 1998 and later becoming the first Spaniard ever to reach No. 1 in the ATP rankings. Though he never challenged for another major after defeating Alex Corretja 12 years ago in Paris, Moya grinded for the next decade, his ranking oscillating between the top 10 and top 40 throughout the 2000s. He finally dropped out of the top 100 last August.

A nagging foot injury was to blame, and it was that ailment which forced the 34-year-old into retirement this week. When he lost 6-0, 6-2 on the clay of Madrid in May, Moya said he knew his career was over. He wanted to go out in a Slam, but opted instead to play one more tournament in his home country before calling it quits.

Moya's powerful groundstrokes helped propel him to the top of the tennis world in the late-'90s as part of the first wave of

Roger Federer's tennis game may be slipping, but at least he hasn't lost a step in the physique department.

The 16-time Grand Slam champ is featured in People's upcoming Sexiest Man Alive issue after having one of the "25 sexy chests to be thankful for." (Or, as the grammatical police would call it: "the 25 sexy chests for which to be thankful." For that matter, who's supposed to be thankful for his chest? Us or him? Or Mirka?)

Of course he's causing a racket. He has a racket in his hands. Why wouldn't he be -- OH! Racket as in a loud noise, not a type of striking implement! They meant it as a homophone. Over the past few weeks, each of the eight qualifiers for the year-end ATP World Tour Finals donned white jumpsuits and hit painted tennis balls at an outline of themselves to create an individual piece of art that will be displayed at the tournament and eventually sold for charity. Now that all the artworks are complete, we'll rank them from best to worst using a completely-arbitrary system:

8. Tomas Berdych

Most everyone else gets an outline of an action shot to work with. Berdych gets one of him either challenging a call, asking for a towel or pointing out the dude in the stands who keeps talking during points.

7. Roger Federer

This looks pretty cool, especially with the yellow tennis ball painted on the canvas. But it doesn't really look much like Federer. Now that I know it's him, I see it. But take away the name and it could be pretty much anyone. Take away the racket and it almost looks like Jerry West on the NBA logo.

Gayus Tambunan is one of the most high-profile prisoners in Indonesia and currently resides in one of the most secure jails in the country. So, two weeks ago, when The Jakarta Globe published a picture of a man who looked like Tambunan attending the Tournament of Champions in Bali, police dismissed the claims as "totally groundless."

Turns out it was Tambunan, wearing a wig and glasses to conceal his identity. Earlier this week, the famed tax official admitted in court to bribing prison guards $40,000 to leave jail on 68 occasions, including the jaunt to the tennis tournament.

Going to Bali to watch a tournament which was eventually won by Ana Ivanovic wasn't as easy as taking a stroll down the boulevard either. Bali is more than 700 miles away from Tambunan's prison in Jakarta, so he likely had to board a plane with his family to fly to the resort destination. They reportedly stayed two nights in a five-star hotel.

On Monday night, Andre Agassi, Stefanie (don't call her Steffi) Graf, Billie Jean King, Anna Kournikova, Elton John and Martina Navratilova were in Washington, D.C., for a World Team Tennis Smash Hits charity event to benefit AIDS research.

Great touch by Elton. That point notwithstanding, though, who made those teams? Don't get me wrong, I love "Daniel" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" as much as anyone, but unless points were awarded for indoor sunglasses wearing, I think Team Martina/Elton was at a decided disadvantage.

Eh, but maybe Stefanie had first choice and picked Andre, and then Martina had to choose between Elton and James Blake. If that was the case, she probably made the right call.
