The first two rounds are in the book at the Australian Open, which means it's time for your favorite quarterly review of Grand Slam fashions, Busted Racquet's best and worst dressed tennis players list.

Note that Venus Williams didn't make the worst dressed list. This is because she would be so dominant on said list that it'd be unfair to the other competitors. Venus is already in the bad outfit Hall of Fame. You can't compare her to a mere mortal, like Caroline Wozniacki. They don't let Mariah Carey enter "American Idol," you know?

As for the best dressed, you'll notice a lot of Nike, Lacoste and adidas kits on the list and there's a simple reason for it: those companies make the best looking tennis clothes. Sometimes simple and clean is better, Yonex.

The premise is that the 16-time Grand Slam champion has a show on Tennis Channel 2 called "At the Bar With Roger Federer." It's amusingly absurd and manages to both turn Federer into an absurd character (a la Sean Connery in those old SNL "Jeopardy" sketches) while still spoofing his enormous ego (and I don't mean that as an insult to Fed -- he has many great traits, none of which happen to be humbleness):

I'm not sure what that accent was (Drago from "Rocky IV"?) but any skit that compares Federer to a chipwich and name-drops Anna Wintour, the Olsen twins and a unicorn is fine by me.

As we detailed in a post on Wednesday night, during a live interview following a win at the Australian Open, Kim Clijsters jokingly confronted broadcaster Todd Woodbridge about a text he had sent her friend theorizing that Clijsters was pregnant. Now you can watch the clip in all its hilarity:

Clijsters is awesome. That could have been awkward or vindictive or contrived and instead it was a genuinely funny moment shared with 15,000 people and a nationwide television audience. She had perfect comedic timing and the right amount of sympathy for Woodbridge, who had no idea what was coming when Clijsters started the story.

Everyone has always said she's one of the nicest people in sports. It's not hard to see why.

It's a tried and true rule of polite society: Never ask a woman if she's pregnant. Tennis Hall of Famer Todd Woodbridge learned that lesson the hard way on Thursday during an interview with tennis star Kim Clijsters.

Now a TV broadcaster, Woodbridge was conducting a live interview with the defending U.S. Open champion after she had earned a convincing second-round win at the Australian Open. In the middle of the talk, Clijsters brought up a text message Woodbridge had sent a fellow player last week.

"I saw a text you sent [Australian tennis player] Rennae Stubbs," she told him during the live interview broadcast on Aussie television and to the crowd at Rod Laver Arena. "You said you thought I was pregnant!"

"Well, are you?" Woodbridge asked while laughing nervously and reddening in the cheeks.

"No, I'm not pregnant!" Clijsters responded, before adding that Woodbridge also had texted that she seemed "really grumpy" and exhibited some

Though the upsets have stayed away, we've been treated to some great matches thus far at the Australian Open. Some of the early round highlights:

-- In the women's draw, the match between Roberta Vinci and the veteran Alicia Molik, which was not promising at first glance, was an epic battle that ended in an exciting fashion. The Australian, Molik, ended by winning 8-6 in the third after having to rally from down a break at 3-5. At 30 years old and after a forced break from tennis due to an infection of the inner ear, she showed once more that the Australian fighting spirit isn't just a myth. It's a real part of their sporting culture. Not that Vinci didn't fight either, though. The two players delivered the highest quality tennis during the last two sets. Roger Federer blew a two-set lead to Gilles Simon on Wednesday night at the Australian Open and had to go the distance to hold off the Frenchman. What does this mean for Federer's quest to win a fifth Australian Open? Busted Racquet weighs all the evidence:

Struggling with Simon doesn't mean anything

-- Gilles Simon is no slouch. He was coming off a win in Sydney and is ranked No. 34 in the world, a few spots out of the seedings. As recently as 14 months ago he was in the top 10. Lifetime, the Frenchman is 2-0 against Federer. This was always going to be a tough match for Federer.

-- Federer rarely plays such talent in the early rounds. It's only the second time in the past decade that he faced a man ranked in the top 35 before the third round. In most of his Grand Slams, Federer's early round opponents have been ranked in the 60s or below.

-- For a five-setter, it wasn't a particularly long match at three hours, 19 minutes. And Federer looked fresh the entire time. Getting used to

It was all over except for the celebratory tweets.

Noted social networker Janko Tipsarevic was on the verge of pulling the upset of No. 9 seed Fernando Verdasco in the second round of the Australian Open. The Serbian, ranked No. 49 in the world, won the first two sets and twice served for the match in the fourth. On his second match point it appeared that a turn-around backhand overhead was going to propel him past the Spaniard. And then Verdasco responded with this:

A few more inches and Tipsarevic gets his racquet on the passing shot. A few more inches and Verdasco's shot goes wide. The difference between victory and defeat in matches like this are sometimes razor thin.

After losing this point and another match point immediately after, Tipsarevic essentially threw in the towel. He was blanked in the fourth-set tiebreak and then barely put up a fight in losing the final set, 6-0. By the final games, Tipsy was barely running out points.

Just when you thought Venus Williams had gone as far (and short) as possible, she manages to stretch the boundaries of tennis fashion a little bit more.

In her second-round match at the Australian Open, the seven-time Grand Slam champ walked onto the court at Rod Laver Arena wearing a yellow tank-top dress with a crisscross pattern covering her bare abdomen. It looked like a mix between Solid Gold Dancer and Edward Scissorhands.

Venus said it was inspired by "Alice in Wonderland."

"Yeah, don't laugh. But it's kind of about a surprise, because when Alice goes down the hole, the rabbit hole, she finds all these things that are so surprising.

"This outfit is about having a surprise in tennis a dress, and kind of, you know, showing some skin and then just having a print. Prints don't happen that often in tennis. So it's called the Wonderland dress. It was fun."
