The talent of Xherdan Shaqiri is so immense that it can be frustrating for his team when he goes missing in action. But that skill can also be the genesis of some breathtaking artistry.

The latter was the case in the 82nd minute of Switzerland's Round of 16 game against Poland in the European Championships.

With the Swiss desperately in search of a tying goal, Shaqiri came through by producing the goal of the tournament.

And watch Shaqiri's golazo with the theme from "Titanic" in the background.

Poland advanced to the Round of 16 not having allowed a goal. It took a strike of that caliber by Shaqiri for the Polish to finally concede. But they survived a surging Switzerland side to force a penalty shootout, which they won 5-4 to advance to the quarterfinals.

After the game, Shaqiri was asked to describe "the best goal of his career." Jokingly, he replied, "You don't know me so well – I've scored loads of nice goals!" And it's true. The Stoke City midfielder scored the following beauty of a strike against Everton last season in the Premier League.

But the wonder goal against Poland did not make up for Switzerland's exit from the Euros.

"It was a very important goal and was more important for me because it pushed the team and the fans on. Of course, it was beautiful," said Shaqiri, who took exception to Poland's celebrations on the Swiss side of the field after the shootout. "But in the end we are out and I'm disappointed."
