Riyad Mahrez and the All-Time Premier League Bargain XI

Riyad Mahrez and the All-Time Premier League Bargain XI

In the process of putting together one of the most incredible seasons in sporting history, Leicester City have encouraged world-beating performances from several players with humble origins. Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kante and Christian Fuchs were all bargain purchases who have helped shape a title winning season, while Riyad Mahrez’s standout campaign was deemed worthy of the PFA Player of the Year Award on Sunday evening.

Mahrez cost just £350,000 ($500,000) when he moved to Leicester in 2014, which makes him the cheapest Player of the Year in decades and one of the best value signings in the league’s history.

The Algerian features in my All-Time Premier League Bargain XI alongside some very cheap purchases who produced excellent results for their clubs.

Take a look at the line-up in the video and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments.
