Lots of skill was on display on this Premier League Saturday

The Premier League gets its reputation for being world football's most entertaining league primarily because it is the most competitive first division in Europe. What can get overlooked amid all the parity, however, is the technical skill of the English top flight.

Saturday was not one of those matchdays when ability was ignored. Great goal was scored after great goal during the seven-match slate, in particular four well-taken strikes into top corners during the six 10 a.m. ET kickoffs.

First came this gem from Aston Villa's Christian Benteke, who was given enough space inside the Manchester United 18 to give Villa a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute of a 1-1 draw.

Then came two excellent strikes within eight minutes of each other in Tottenham vs. Burnley. Ashley Barnes effortlessly pumped in this blast past Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the 27th minute.

Erik Lamela followed that up with his own beauty of a curling shot in the 35th minute for what would be the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory.
