Fabian Johnson, John Brooks both star in big Bundesliga victories (Video)

Saturday was a good day for the United States men's national team in the Bundesliga.

Fabian Johnson scored in his third straight game in Borussia Moenchengladbach's shocking 3-1 win over Bayern Munich before a rollicking Borussia-Park home crowd. The 27-year-old capped an amazing 14-minute stretch in which Gladbach executed Andre Schubert's game plan to perfection to score three times and deal the Bundesliga leaders their first league loss.

With Gladbach up 2-0 on goals by Oscar Wendt and Lars Stindl, Johnson ran onto a ball over the top of the Bayern defense and calmly slipped it past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the 68th minute for a 3-0 cushion. The goal was the fourth in three games for Johnson, who scored once in a Champions League win over Sevilla and then twice in last weekend's draw at Hoffenheim.

It was Johnson's ball from the wing that led to Wendt's opening goal in the 54th minute. Wednt found him on the left and Johnson cut the ball back across the top of the penalty area for some nifty combination play by Gladbach.

Meanwhile in Berlin, John Brooks was starring in Hertha's 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. The American defender's powerful header in the 60th minute turned out to be the match winner. The goal was Brooks' first of the season.

In the Premier League, USMNT regulars DeAndre Yedlin and Geoff Cameron had vastly different experiences on the pitch. Yedlin started for Sunderland as a wing back on the right side but was caught ball-watching on Joel Campbell's opening goal in Arsenal's 3-1 win over the visiting Black Cats.

Cameron started for Stoke City as one of two holding midfielders and looked quite comfortable manning the right side in a 2-0 upset of Manchester City. The 30-year-old also helped keep control of the ball by completing 42 passes to remind everyone (and USMNT head coach Jurgen Klinsmann) of his versatility.
