Europa League roundup: Man United, Spurs get away goals, Liverpool draws

Premier League sides Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool kicked off their knockout-round ties with mixed results on Thursday.

Man United grabbed the lead with a precious away goal from Memphis Depay but went on to concede twice in falling 2-1 at Danish champion FC Midtjylland. Paul Onuachu had plenty of space at the top of the box to bounce the winner past goalkeeper Sergio Romero, who got the start after David De Gea hurt himself during warmups.

Tottenham also took home an away goal courtesy of Nacer Chadli's 37th-minute penalty, but Spurs are in a much better position to go through after a 1-1 draw at Fiorentina.

Liverpool goes back to Anfield in decent shape after a 0-0 draw with FC Augsburg in Germany.
