Told to dispose of his gum in presence of royal family, Cristiano Ronaldo hides it away

It was a schoolboy moment for Cristiano Ronaldo at the Spanish National Sports Awards in the Royal Palace of El Pardo. When visiting royalty, there is all kinds of prim and proper etiquette to adhere to and Ronaldo violated prim and proper rule No. 1 when he showed up at the formal event chewing gum.

Pulled aside at the event and told to lose the gum, Ronaldo smiled at the request, but appeared to realize he had to do as asked. Now Ronaldo was faced with a dilemma. What do you do with your chewed up gum in a royal palace?

Ronaldo's solution was to sacrifice his suit by slyly putting it in his pocket, ensuring that whoever stuck their hand in there later got an unexpected sticky surprise. No longer chomping on his gum, Ronaldo then accepted his award for the best Ibero-American sportsman of 2011 from Queen Sofia.
