American warrior/goalkeeper Tim Howard is not one to fake injuries, which told his teammates and the U.S. fans that something must have been seriously wrong when team doctors had to tend to his side after his rib-clattering collision with Emile Heskey in last Saturday's 1-1 draw with England. For a few testy minutes it seemed he might have to come out of the game. But this is Tim Howard. Luckily, he passed all his medical tests after the match and will be back between the pipes for the U.S. in the all-important Group C clash with Slovenia on Friday.

That didn't stop him from having a little joke with his teammates, when he emerged for a pool-training session the next day with just a little Band-Aid on his ribs to mark the spot of his wince-inducing boo-boo.
His centerback tandem of Jay DeMerit and Carlos Bocanegra describe the funny moment above and express the assurance of their leader being back in the net for this weekend.
