Sampdoria manager gets two-match ban for giving Nicolas Burdisso the finger

Sampdoria manager Delio Rossi has been punished with a two-match ban and fined by his club for giving the finger to Roma's Nicolas Burdisso during Sampdoria's 3-1 win on Sunday (pictured here). This was actually a show of improved behavior from Rossi, who was sacked by Fiorentina last year after he attacked one of his own players on the bench. Still, Rossi found it in him to apologize and tell what we can only assume is a joke about how he has "always been respectful."

From Forza Italian Football:

“I’m sorry for the gesture because as I’ve always said, I have always been respectful and I always demand respect,” he stated on the club’s website.

“I will gladly accept the fine handed down to me by the club for my role and I will give it the Giannina Gaslini Children’s hospital.”

Let's just hope no one at the children's hospital makes eye contact Rossi when he hands over the money.
