Two goals in the final 10 minutes of the match helped Everton come from behind to beat West Ham 3-2 and remain undefeated on the season, but the fact that Romelu Lukaku scored the winning goal was news to him. The striker on loan from Chelsea made his Everton debut in the second half and two minutes after Leighton Baines equalized for Everton with his second great free kick of the day, Lukaku headed in the 85th-minute winner. But as he did, he clashed heads with West Ham's Joey O'Brien, causing him to go fuzzy for a bit.
When asked after the match what he remembered of the goal, he replied, "Nothing. I didn't even know that I scored. The first thing I asked — I said to the doc, 'Who scored?' and he said 'You.'"
Instead of rushing back to watch the highlights of what he had done, the 20-year-old had other plans. "I'll call my parents first and ask what happened and focus on the next game," he said, still looking a little unsure of what planet he was on.
