Real Madrid win UEFA Super Cup, confetti cannon nearly gives Pepe a heart attack

Real Madrid defender Pepe reaffirmed his reputation as a hardman with a short fuse when he headbutted Thomas Muller at the World Cup, but the UEFA Super Cup has revealed his weakness: Confetti cannons.

A Cristiano Ronaldo brace gave Real Madrid a 2-0 win over Sevilla at Cardiff City Stadium, allowing the Champions League winners to lift the Super Cup for the first time since 2002. To play up the pageantry of the event, confetti cannons exploded as Iker Casillas hoisted the trophy, scaring the bejesus out of Pepe and Luka Modric.

All clubs are advised to have confetti cannons on hand this season just in case a Pepe rampage needs to be stopped. This is a matter of public safety.
