Real Madrid stole the idea for acquiring Chicharito from Goal II

(Real Madrid)

Real Madrid already signed two breakout stars of the Brazil World Cup earlier in this transfer window, so to close it out, they had to look to other sources of inspiration. And with the addition of Chicharito on loan from Manchester United, it seems they took that inspiration from a fictional 2008 film set within the club. Yes, Javier Hernandez's move to Real Madrid is the story of Goal II come to life.

Let's look at the facts...

Real life: Javier Hernandez, a Mexican goal scorer with a buzz cut, goes from a Premier League club (Man Utd) to Real Madrid.

Goal II: Santi Munez, a Mexican goal scorer with a buzz cut, goes from a Premier League club (Newcastle) to Real Madrid.

Real life: Chicharito is brought to the club by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Goal II: Munez is brought to the club by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez (he played himself in the film).

(Goal II)

Real life: Chicharito says that joing Real Madrid is "a dream come true."

Goal II: The full title of the film is "GOAL II: LIVING THE DREAM."

And there you have it. This move is entirely based on Goal II: Living the Dream. The producers should probably go ahead and sue Real Madrid for copyright infringement.
