Dirty TacklePrinces William and Harry play in annual Christmas charity football match
Traditionally, the British Royal Family spend the Christmas holiday at their Sandringham estate in Norfolk. On Christmas Eve, an annual charity match between Sandringham estate workers and villagers took place, and Princes William and Harry decided to show they are just like regular folk by participating.
Around 30 royals and 100 dirty common proles gathered for the game, in which Prince Harry — sporting the kind of ginger beard that Andre Villas-Boas can only dream of — was pictured in the throes of a very aggressive flying tackle absolutely nowhere near the ball, leading many newspapers to label him "Dirty Harry."
His elder brother William, meanwhile, was snapped cowering as a ball flew towards him. The future King and Football Association president wore Aston Villa socks, which he might have picked up during the spirit-crushingly boring encounter he witnessed at Villa Park earlier in December.
Despite playing on opposing sides, the Windsor brothers hugged it out after the match, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
One player was so seriously injured that he needed to be taken to hospital, but thankfully, since neither side lost, no beheadings were demanded by the onlooking royals.
