This is the Premier League equivalent to spotting a unicorn

In the 84th minute of his 185th Premier League match, Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel scored his first league goal to top off his side's 2-0 win against Fulham. No outfield player has made more Premier League appearances before scoring their first goal, according to Opta.

That means the image above is something you should print out and save forever. In the future, it will be worth more than any amount of gold or Bigfoot droppings. Children will whisper tales of how their great grandparents claimed to have seen it happen, though no one can be sure it actually did. This is what a miracle looks like.

Mikel scored twice in the FA Cup during his first season with Chelsea way back in 2006/07 (and once for Norwegian club Lyn before that), but it's been nothing but shots into row Z since then. His inability to score at the club level (he has four goals in 51 appearances for Nigeria) has become a running joke. Now he has more league goals than Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o combined this season.

With that win, Chelsea went from a club "in crisis" to the top of the Premier League table. The lesson of the day? Patience, dummies. Patience.

Here's Mikel's post-match interview...
