Osvaldo Alonso scores with a rocket off the crossbar against Tottenham

Spurs began their preseason tour of North America in Seattle to visit Clint Dempsey, who they sold to the Sounders for $9 million last summer. Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso stole the show just after halftime when he found some open space between the Premier League club's rusty defenders and launched a screamer off the bottom of the crossbar and into the back of the net to give Seattle a 2-1 lead.

The former Cuban international, who defected to the U.S. in 2007, has yet to score in MLS this season, but maybe this strike will help him break through in league play.

Spurs went on to equalize from the penalty spot in the 55th minute, but Seattle reclaimed the lead in the 79th minute before U.S. World Cup star DeAndre Yedlin committed a handball just two minutes later to gift Tottenham with a second penalty and a 3-3 draw.

Next up for Spurs will be a friendly against Toronto FC on July 23 and then the tour wraps up on July 26 against the Chicago Fire.
