Nigel Reo-Coker an injury doubt after tripping over a bike rack

Nigel Reo-Coker an injury doubt after tripping over a bike rack

From the unconventional injury department comes news that MLS's official website classifies as a "off-field walking accident" suffered by Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker. And now he's a doubt for Saturday's match against Houston.

The league's site explains:

The club has stated the Englishman was looking elsewhere while walking when he tripped over a bike rack, cutting his face and hitting his head in the process.

As regrettable as this incident was for the former West Ham and Aston Villa player, it's not even 2014's strangest footballer injury. That title still belongs to goalkeeper Victor Francoz of non-league club Oxford City, who took a gash to the leg after falling out of a tree while attempting to save a cat.

Hopefully Nigel, his face and the bike rack all make a speedy recovery.
