Nautico midfielder takes two attempts to score terrible own goal

The phrase "worst own goal ever" is bandied around a lot these days, but this suspiciously appalling effort from Brazil truly lives up to the billing.

Nautico were drawing 1-1 with Santa Cruz in their Pernambuco 1 State Championship tie on Sunday when Nautico midfielder Izaldo's attempt to clear the ball from his own six-yard box ended up hitting the crossbar. Then, seconds later, the 20-year-old finished the job by heading into his own net from close range.

Visitors Santa Cruz went 2-1 up thanks to their 12th man and ended up winning the game 5-3.

Izaldo was under very little pressure during the incident, which suggests that there was either something fishy going on or he is truly terrible at his job.
