With Santa caps on their heads and beers in hand, three NAC Breda supporters were lucky enough to watch their club play a Dutch Eredivisie match against Cambuur Leeuwarden from the best seat in the house: a pitchside jacuzzi. They partied at the Rat Verlegh Stadion with snorkels and flippers as NAC won 1-0. And after the match, the players celebrated by piling into the hot tub with them.
It was NAC's first win in five matches and their final game before the winter break, so a bit of celebration was in order. And when there's a bubbling hot tub sitting right there, it's hard to pass up the opportunity.
Though it's definitely unusual, the pitchside jacuzzi seems to be a growing trend at European football grounds. Swiss Super League club Grasshopper Zurich debuted theirs earlier this year, allowing fans to get drunk and pruny while watching a match courtesy of a bathroom supplier that sponsored the club.
Perhaps one day hard plastic seats will be replaced and all spectators at live sporting events will watch for the comfort of a hot tub.
