Miralem Pjanic scores from inside his own half against Manchester United

Down 3-0 to Manchester United during an International Champions Cup match in Denver, Roma's Miralem Pjanic scored with an audacious 75th-minute shot from well inside his own half. Pjanic's majestic shot arched over third-choice goalkeeper Ben Amos and landed softly in the net. Francesco Totti then added a second Roma goal from the penalty spot, but Man United (captained by Tom Cleverley) held on to win 3-2.

Pjanic, who played for Bosnia-Herzegovina at the World Cup, had been preparing for his moment, though. The day before, he nailed a 50-yard field goal with an American football at the Denver Broncos' training complex.

In the first half of the match, Wayne Rooney scored a lovely goal of his own. Albeit from a bit closer than Pjanic's effort.

Rooney had a second goal just before halftime, helping Man United to a second straight win under new manager Louis van Gaal.
