Jurgen Klopp apologizes for ‘missing tension’ in Bundesliga title race

Though they ended up just barely eking past Arsenal in the Champions League round of 16, Bayern Munich have thoroughly dominated the Bundesliga. They maintain a 20-point lead over second-place Borussia Dortmund in the table and have just one loss and 10 goals allowed all season. So after winning the last two league titles, Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is feeling a bit embarrassed about the ease with which Bayern have already sewn up the championship.

At a press conference on Thursday, Klopp got off a to a sheepish start:

"Maybe I should take the opportunity to apologize for the missing tension in the championship. However, we've given our best to keep the tension. Everybody has tried to keep the distance to Bayern within reach. This extends to almost every competition. There is also a thrilling battle for relegation. It isn't decided yet. Except the fight for the championship, there is tension everywhere."

Dortmund won't just be sitting around and watching that tense relegation battle, though. Like Bayern, they're still alive in the Champions League, so they still have a chance to get one (a rather big one) over on their rivals yet this season.

Meanwhile, the wait begins for Roberto Mancini to apologize for the missing tension atop the Premier League.
