Roma midfielder MIralem Pjanic is lucky to still have his leg in one piece after finding himself beneath the unmerciful stomp of Fiorentina's Ruben Olivera. Roma already led 2-1 in the 20th minute of Saturday's match when Pjanic went down near the touchline while trying to keep Olivera from the ball. With Pjanic on the ground, Olivera made no effort to disguise his malicious leg stomp that wasn't even close to being a challenge for the ball.
A scuffle between the two sides ensued and Olivera was shown a yellow card. Roma went on to win 4-2 and Pjanic played the full 90 minutes, whereas Olivera was taken off at halftime.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
