Both Emile Heskey and Alessandro Del Piero made their A-League debuts at the weekend, prompting Fox Sports to grade their first appearances. Del Piero was given a B+ and plenty of praise, but Heskey got a bit more guff.

Described as having a "reputation of an old school bully," the first highlight from Heskey's appearance in Newcastle Jets' 2-0 loss to Adelaide United was of him knocking over Adelaide keeper Eugene Galekovic and going nose to nose with Galekovic's teammate (50 seconds into the video). The commentator also recommends that Heskey "stay off the cream buns at play lunch." He is given a B-.

Even though he's a continent away from the Premier League, Emile Heskey is still the subject of Heskey jokes.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
