A late challenge from Jerome Boateng during a Bayern Munich training session left the club's €40-million man Javi Martinez limping off the pitch. Boateng caught Martinez on the ankle with a challenge from behind, resulting in the Spaniard needing help to limp off the snow-slicked pitch.
Luckily, the injury turned out to be a minor sprain and he should still be ready to play against Gladbach on Friday. Had it been more serious, Bayern would've likely instituted a "you break it, you buy it" policy that Boateng couldn't have afforded.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
