DTotD: Hoffenheim mascot trips over advertising board, head falls off

Hoffenheim destroyed Wolfsburg 6-2 on Sunday, but tragedy struck when the club's mascot, Hoffi the moose, lost his head. The horrifying moment occurred in the 43rd minute after Anthony Modeste made it 4-1. Hoffi was hurrying over to celebrate with all the players in the corner, but in his haste, he tripped over an advertising board and fell down, his head falling off in the process.

The man inside Hoffi scrambled to reattach his head and get back on his feet as Brazilian midfielder Roberto Firmino abandoned the celebration to try and help him. But at that point it was too late, the damage had been done. Now everyone knew that Hoffi wasn't actually a giant moose in a football kit. The day was ruined.
