Bayer Leverkusen beat Hamburg 5-3 last weekend with a hat trick from 21-year-old Heung-Min Son. The worst of those five goals for Hamburg defender Heiko Westermann was Son's second in the 16th minute.
With the goalkeeper making a failed attempt to stop Son, Westermann and Jonathan Tah both attempted sliding saves to keep the ball out of the empty net. Tah ended up in the net along with the ball, but Westermann blasted his face into the post. As uncomfortable as that must have been, he did play the rest of the match. Considering Bayer scored three more goals, that might have been less fun than his run-in with the post.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
