Arsenal de Sarandi had a chance to close in on Argentina Primeria Division leaders Newell's Old Boys, but instead they let their frustration get the best of them and participated in a mass brawl with opponents Gimnasia. Arsenal took an early lead, but Gimnasia equalized in the 63rd minute. As the final whistle neared, Arsenal felt Gimnasia were wasting time and that's when the riot police and red cards had to get involved.
From PA Sport:
The match finished in heated fashion after a dispute about the state of the ball and what the home side saw as time-wasting.
The referee was forced to halt the match as police came on the pitch to attempt to break things up, and in the end Damian Perez and Nicolas Aguirre for Arsenal were sent off, as well as Gimnasia's Ariel Garcia, Franco Mussis and Ricardo Diaz.
Just imagine how much worse this would've been had the referee from the Kuwaiti scuffle earlier in the week been involved.
