Already winning 3-1 in the 85th minute, Club Brugge defender Tom Hogli attempted to apply a finishing move to KAA Gent's Yassine El Ghanassy. The Norwegian international delivered a kung fu kick well above ball height, connecting with the side of the former West Brom striker's face.
Hogli immediately held up his hand as if to say, "Yeah, that was my bad." And the referee agreed by showing him a red card.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
