DTotD: Alan Dzagoev punches opponent in the face during Moscow derby
CSKA Moscow were leading the Russian Premier League ahead of Sunday's derby with Dynamo Moscow, but fell off the top of the pile after suffering a bad-tempered 2-0 loss to their neighbors.
Alan Dzagoev gave Dynamo the helpful advantage of playing ten men when he earned a straight red card for punching Aussie defender Luke Wilkshire in the face. It was the CSKA midfielder's second red card of the season, and he has since apologized to his team and fans, insisting that he "could not hold back emotions" towards a player who had been provoking him for the whole game.
Dzagoev has pleaded to the Russian FA for leniency, as regulations state that his brace of red cards means he could now be suspended for up to 12 matches.
