David Luiz touches his teammates for good luck, and it seems to work

David Luiz is delightfully odd. This isn't news. But in addition to his comedic talents, he apparently also has the supernatural ability to infuse goal scoring prowess into his teammates with a mere touch on the head and shoulder. And he proved these abilities on the most notoriously scoring-challenged subject of all.

From the Guardian:

David Luiz will continue to touch his Chelsea team-mates before kick-off despite their amusement at the Brazilian placing his hands on Fernando Torres ahead of the 5-0 win Champions League group win over Genk on Wednesday evening, in which the Spaniard scored twice.

David Luiz was pictured with his palm on Torres's head and his eyes closed, apparently in prayer. But it is understood that David Luiz was not praying — just carrying out a pre-game ritual he believes can bring the team luck, the 24-year-old being described as a "tactile person".

Well, Thiago Silva learned just how tactile he is during Brazil match against Costa Rica. And though his touchy ways might get him a visit from an HR rep if he's not careful, by getting results like these, he could start up a side business as a faith healer of sorts. Emile Heskey would definitely pay good money for his services.

Here's video of David Luiz carrying out his voodoo touches, much to the amusement of Ruud Gullit...
