Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the second leg of Real Madrd's Copa del Rey round of 16 tie against Osasuna — his first match since winning the Ballon d'Or on Monday. Perhaps a little too starstruck by Ronaldo's latest honor to stop the 22nd minute free kick, goalkeeper Andres Fernandez conceded the goal in a fashion that won't win him any awards.
Ronaldo curled the ball over ducking teammate Pepe and even though it hit Fernandez right in the hands, the power and the spin on it was still too much for him to handle. The ball bounced down between Fernandez's legs and squirted in for a goal. That extended Real Madrid's aggregate lead to 3-0 and showed that Ronaldo has scary command of his golden ball sorcery.
Cristiano was subbed off for Gareth Bale in the 62nd minute as Real Madrid cruised into the quarterfinals with a 4-0 aggregate win.
