Earlier this week, Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, currently on loan at Juventus, was caught driving on the wrong side of the road in Copenhagen with a blood alcohol level 3.5 times the legal limit (Bendtner said it was only a "mild case of drink driving"). He was quickly banned from the Danish national team for six months and a local court suspended his driver's license for three years and fined him 842,000 kroner ($147,000). Upon leaving the courthouse, he said this was the "worst day in my life." So a shop in Copenhagen decided to put together a bit of creative merchandising for the incident.

Packaging a Nicklas Bendtner figurine from Euro 2012, a toy car and a fridge magnet shaped like a Tuborg beer bottle, the shop created a makeshift "Bendtner Set." They only put two together as joke at first, but when they quickly sold, they hastily assembled more, according to Ekstra Bladet. And to add insult to insult, it was also reported this week that the Juventus shop has never sold a single Bendtner shirt. Maybe it's time to start packaging them with fridge magnets and toy cars too.
