Chesterfield’s Gary Roberts pulls down opponent’s shorts in front of referee

Chesterfield continued their 100% start to League Two on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Cheltenham. The real winner at the Proact Stadium, however, was horseplay.

As he was lining up to take a free kick, Chesterfield winger Gary Roberts clearly objected to interference from Cheltenham's Russell Penn. Roberts did what any professional sportsman would in that situation, yanking down the shorts of his opponent right in front of the referee.

The official saw it as a legitimate de-pantsing, as he didn't issue a card and simply told Penn to pull them up and get on with the game.

To top off Cheltenham's humiliation, it was Roberts who went on to metaphorically pull their shorts down by scoring the opening goal.
