The Champions League group-stage match between Basel and Schalke was momentarily halted shortly after it began while Greenpeace activists repelled from the top of St. Jakob-Park like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. They unfurled a huge banner warning Gazprom, sponsor of Schalke and the Champions League, against their offshore oil drilling in the Arctic.

The "Arctic 30" referenced in the banner are the 30 activists recently detained by Russian authorities aboard a ship in the Arctic after two of them tried to scale a Gazprom oil platform. Clearly Greenpeace is as much in favor of scaling things as they are against Gazprom drilling in the Arctic.
