Alex Ferguson gets substitute board dropped on him

Foreshadowing the fact that added time would not save its reputed puppet master, Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson fell victim to the substitute board as his assistants tried to pass it to each other during Athletic Bilbao's 3-2 Europa League round of 16 first-leg win at Old Trafford.

While Sir Alex watched Althletic outplay his side, Rene Meulensteen tried to pass the board past Fergie to Mike Phelan, but the board fell, leaving Ferguson rubbing his foot in pain. His butterfingered assistants, meanwhile, didn't seem too concerned.

After the match, Ferguson likely released the frustration of a home Europa League loss by destroying that electronic board in manner similar, yet way more ferocious than how they smashed up that printer in the movie Office Space.
