Ajax’s Daley Blind knocks Eredivisie trophy off its podium

With a 5-0 win against Willem II, Ajax won their third straight Eredivisie title and 32nd in the club's history. To celebrate this achievement, defender Daley Blind brought back the club's new tradition of accidentally testing the durability of the Eredivisie shield.

At the end of the 2011 season, then goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg dropped the shield off the top of a moving bus during the club's parade through Amsterdam, causing it to roll down the street like an oversized bottle cap. This time, Blind didn't wait that long to dent up the award. As the players made their way past the shield after receiving their winners' medals, Blind grabbed the top of it when he walked by, causing it to tumble off the back of its podium and onto the ground.

Blind then put the shield back on its stand and had a laugh over his clumsiness, but, really, what more would you expect from a defender named Blind?
