Since the real Lionel Messi would cost far more than they could afford, Madame Tussauds decided to build its own. But instead of using the Lego blocks and puppy sneezes that comprise the real one, it used wax. Four months and £150,000 later, it dressed its creation in last season's Barca kit and unveiled its triumphant Wax Messi at Wembley.
The likeness is both creepy and impressive, even if the head does have an egg-shaped Gary Barlow quality to it...
Fun Fact: Wax Messi's tongue actually feels moist when in the presence of Werther's Originals. (Getty)
Wax Messi goes on display at the Madame Tussauds in London next week, where it will of course be placed next to its wax figure of Cristiano Ronaldo. Perhaps this is why Cristiano was so sad.
