Wilson Chandler heading to Italy?

Wilson Chandler just returned from playing in China and now could be headed off to Italy, according to the Denver Post. The restricted free agent forward has till Thursday to receive an offer sheet from another team and then the Denver Nuggets would be given the chance to match it. According to the Post, the Nuggets don't want to sign Chandler just for the rest of the season and his agent, Chris Luchey, says his client won't sign a one-year deal.

If no deal comes from another team by Thursday, it doesn't appear that Chandler will play NBA ball this year, the Post reports. This summer, he could sign long-term with Denver, head to another team via an offer sheet that the Nuggets don't want to match, or be involved in a sign-and-trade.

One of the options being considered is having Chandler head to Italy to play professionally there "in order to stay in shape and make some money," the paper reports.

In his four seasons in the league, the 24-year-old averaged 13.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
