US PresswireThe All-Star break couldn't have come at a better time for Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry. He left Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns early after injuring his right foot on an attempted layup. He tried to come back at the very end of the first half, but it didn't work out.
The San Jose Mercury News now has it that Curry has had an MRI and the injury has been identified as a sprained deltoid ligament.
"I'm hopeful I can play Tuesday" when the Warriors visit the Indiana Pacers, Curry said Sunday, according to the Mercury News. "It feels better. Rehab is going well. Just have to see how it responds the next couple of days. I'm confident I won't miss much time, if any."
The 23-year-old is averaging 16.5 points, 6.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game this season.
