Utah Jazz looking to trade Devin Harris

US PresswirePoint guard Devin Harris joined the Utah Jazz last season after being traded from the New Jersey Nets. Now the Jazz is looking to unload him and has put him on the trading block, according to ESPN.

Harris only played 17 games for the season, averaging 15.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. This year hasn't gone so well. With 14 games under his belt, the 28-year-old Harris is averaging 8.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. Over his eight seasons in the NBA, Harris has averaged 13.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and five assists per game.

Harris was the fifth overall pick in the 2004 draft out of Wisconsin by the Washington Wizards. He was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks along with Jerry Stackhouse and Christian Laettner for Antawn Jamison.

The Jazz would actually come out ahead on that trade IMO, Stuckey is a 6'5" PG and has career averages similar to Harris, but is three years younger, Jerebko is a young 6'10" PF averages 9 and 6. Problem is that both Stuckey and Jerebko can't be traded until March 1st, and their salaries don't match up. Jazz don't really need more bigs though, even if the salaries did work.

Why don't you get him back to Dallas since he know how the system goes there and it will very much fit to his style of play since we're seeing the last days of KIDD. . he'll be a good replacement since he have been there before with the rotation of Terry-Barea(Wolves)-Harris

Devin Harris played in Dallas when Avery Johnson was head coach. Rick Carlisle is running a different system. Mavs have avoided cap burden this season to acquire big talent next summer, probably Deron Williams.

Not sure Harris would fit with Kobe, but off the bench he could give a boost and help Worldpeace and that Second unit put more points on the board.

The lakers don't have anything any other team would want... Lakers have Pau, Bynum and Kobe. And they don't want to part with one of them...

The Mavs are loaded with Guards at the moment. RB, DW, JT and KJ. There would be no playing time for him. He should go to the Spurs or the Rockets.

Why is it that every team this guy goes to wants to trade him? He was on the trading block his last two seasons in Dallas, then as soon as New Jersey got him he was on the block. Now Utah has him on the block. Is he a poor locker room presence or something?

The Jazz's logjam at bigs gives them additional trading value. Jeremy Evans is currently dying on the bench. As much as I hate to say it, Millsap is going to be traded. With his front-loaded contract and HUGE upside, teams will slash their roster for him. Jazz cant afford to carry his big upcoming contract and Al's after next year. Trade Millsap with Harris and get back an all-star guard. It hurts but it is the right move in the long run...
