Timberwolves’ Michael Beasley out till next week?

US PresswireMinnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley has missed the last three games due to a sprained right foot and it's not looking like the second overall pick of the 2008 draft will be back in action until at least next week.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Beasley was still wearing a boot on his right foot before the Wolves took on the Chicago Bulls Tuesday night, losing 111-100.

"The swelling has gone down a bit on the mid-foot sprain, but he still can't put any weight on the ball of his foot," the paper notes, "so he's probably not going to be ready anytime soon." It appears likely at the very least, the Star Tribune notes, that he'll miss the two-game road trip this weekend.

In the games he has played in, the 23-year-old ambidextrous Beasley is averaging 12.9 points, seven rebounds and an assist per game.

The Wolves seem to play better without him. He scores a lot because he shoots a lot, but his shooting % is terrible and he gives away the ball constantly.

Yup agreed chiefs.. Any they play better without him? they were down 23 to the bulls the other day in the second qtr. they won one game without him and that was against the wiz. who doesnt look good against them.. and he is forced to take shots on that team because he in the only one who can get a decent one up when the shot clock winds down. i admit he needs to mature a little but this guy is oozing with talent

Beasley will be the league scoring champ eventually. Now he is with Rubio, but they haven't even had a chance to really play together. During the lockout, Beasley was the most active TWolf playing and organizing charity games. He stayed competitive. He is going to be dangerous as hell once he gels with this team. When he comes back, we will have someone who can make cluth free throws and clutch shots with the game on the line. We have certainly been missing that in his absence.
