Seven teams interested in adding Wilson Chandler?

US PresswireIt was pretty much presumed that when restricted free agent Wilson Chandler got back from China that he would sign on with his former team, the Denver Nuggets. That may happen, but Chandler has some other options and is checking them out, according to Sports Illustrated.

Chandler visited with the Toronto Raptors Tuesday, the site notes, and his agent, Chris Luchey, claims to have interest from six other teams.

"We are exploring all avenues," Luchey said, according to the site. "Our talks [with Denver] thus far have been OK. It's just the nature [of free agency]. They have options and Will has options."

"[Nuggets GM Masai] Ujiri -- according to Luchey -- has made it clear he has no interest in signing him for only the rest of the season and that he wants a long-term deal," Sports Illustrated wrote.

Chandler has till the end of the month to sign an offer sheet with another team, the site notes, and the Nuggets will have the chance to match the offer. After that, the Nuggets are the only option for Chandler, who was selected by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2007 draft and traded to Denver as part of the Carmelo Anthony deal.

Last season, he averaged 12.5 points and five rebounds per game.

thanks for listing the 7 teams. either way he'd be alright off the bench.

Nuggets need him back badly, China killed the Nuggets this year...and yet they are still are almost a playoff team.

China decimated the roster, but injuries are hampering what's left.

Lol actually quite the opposite... Denver's deepest pos is sf .... Btwn al Harrington, Corey brewer and the two rookies Jordan Hamilton and Kenneth faried all getting time there.... Not too mention ther best sf danIlo gallinari will be back at sum pt soon... The nuggets definitely don,t have to add a 5th man to that depth at sf..... He shud go to a place where he,s garaunteed 25 mins a night and a possible starting gig... That way he can get a decent contract next year if he's able to perform.... Ez game defense rests... Gimme the trophy...

sixers be in the mix or the magic
    • The Rover 3 months ago
Sixers would be a good team for him.

Lakers needs Aaron Brooks rather than Chandler. I hope the Kings throw big money at Chandler because Salmons is terrible.

most lakers fans would want him coming off the bench, yes, but seems they are in all these rumors and nothing happened.. he wont be a Laker, and chances he wins a title this yr are slim - 1/32

he is going to go to a crappy team (Rapters) because he wants money and a lot of playing time or the Nuggets are going to match and keep him for this year since Danilo Gallinari is out for a bit.

Yeah, and seven million sports fans are interested in Mark J. Miller being replaced by somebody with at least half-a-molecule of integrity.

He is going to end up back with the nuggets since they will just match any offer he gets. He is a restricted free agent after all.

Might as well go back to knicks and make it the NY Knuggets

Since they won't name the teams...then i will. The logical choices are the Magic, Spurs, Hawks, Bucks (yes the Bucks), Lakers (awesome fit), and maybe even the Timberwolves. I'm just saying. But Wilson Chandler will make anyone's roster happy.
    • John Byrd 2 months ago
And the Warriors...but idk. I mean the list goes on and on.

he cant go to the timberwolves they have about 8 sg and sf
    • Matthew 2 months ago
No we (t wolves) have 2 SFs (Beasley and Williams) and we are gonna trade one (beasley) and we only have one legit sg (barrea) and he is only a good role player. The wolves should trade ridenour, Beasley, draft picks and Wes Johnson for Kevin Martin then sign chandler and put him where Beasley was. Perfect

    Celtics need him...and more.
    • The Rover 3 months ago
Celtics don't need another forward. They need a legit center who's last name is not O'Neal.

they will never have a good time again after the big 3 leave

I think we all know it will be with NY, Heat or Clippers...
    • RBC 3 months ago
Doubt he will go to New York since he was pretty #$%$ when they traded him last season. Also the fact they can only offer him league minimum. He won't go to the Heat because he won't sign for the minimum plus he is more than good enough to be a starter but would be benched there for James. I could see him going to the Clippers since they got the cap space and he would be a starter.
    • EJ 3 months ago
He won't go to any of those teams because they wont have long term money for him
    • Arturo 3 months ago
He would not start over griffin or butler... And the clippers are keeping that money to try to resign chris paul. He will either go back to denver or sign someone like the nets, that would give him a one year deal

Pacers. and then trade granger and collison for d-will
  • D  •  3 months ago
if Wilson is smart, or his agent, they will seek the best one-year offer they can get, so a one year offer is all Denver can match, then next year the ball will be in his court as he will become unrestricted with all options available. but that is just my advice.
