It was pretty much presumed that when restricted free agent Wilson Chandler got back from China that he would sign on with his former team, the Denver Nuggets. That may happen, but Chandler has some other options and is checking them out, according to Sports Illustrated.
Chandler visited with the Toronto Raptors Tuesday, the site notes, and his agent, Chris Luchey, claims to have interest from six other teams.
"We are exploring all avenues," Luchey said, according to the site. "Our talks [with Denver] thus far have been OK. It's just the nature [of free agency]. They have options and Will has options."
"[Nuggets GM Masai] Ujiri -- according to Luchey -- has made it clear he has no interest in signing him for only the rest of the season and that he wants a long-term deal," Sports Illustrated wrote.
Chandler has till the end of the month to sign an offer sheet with another team, the site notes, and the Nuggets will have the chance to match the offer. After that, the Nuggets are the only option for Chandler, who was selected by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2007 draft and traded to Denver as part of the Carmelo Anthony deal.
Last season, he averaged 12.5 points and five rebounds per game.
