Byron Scott hoping to keep Anderson Varejao at trade deadline

US PresswireThe season is still young and the 4-5 Cleveland Cavaliers are sitting in third place in the East's Central Division. The team isn't expected to make any kind of run for a title, of course, so a few of its players are already being discussed as probable trade targets for contenders, particularly point guard Ramon Sessions and big man Anderson Varejao.

The 6-10 Varejao, a native of Brazil, is off to one of his best starts in his eight seasons, averaging 9.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game in the season's first nine games.

However, Cavs coach Byron Scott isn't ready to let Varejao head elsewhere. "It would have to be an unbelievable person to get back," Scott said, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "I look at him as one of the guys you look at and say, 'He's not going anywhere.' I just feel he's that valuable and feel that strongly about him and what he means to this team."

The 29-year-old has three years and $27 million left on his contract.

Keep Andy. We need to trade Jamison and give Thompson more playing time.

Yup, pump him up right before they slam the trade door in his face. Get rid of him, Sessions, and Jamison-----use that money to add a couple other young players and build from there!

Also, unless you are in the lottery, there really isn't much to bragg about in the NBA draft! I mean, there are nice players, but how many LeBron's are available in each draft, ya know?
