Prior to his team's deciding tilt against Houston (Texas) Lamar High in their bi-district championship series, Trent Bowles took to Twitter to ask Katy Cinco Ranch baseball fans for their support at the game.
And the senior outfielder rewarded the Cougar faithful with quite a show, belting a walkoff grand slam to cap a seven-run rally in the final inning of a 12-10 best-of-three series-clinching win over the weekend.
"What's on my mind at the plate?" Bowles told the Houston Chronicle. "'I want this. This is a situation I've been dreaming of since I was a little kid,' and I finally get it and I came through — just like I always did in my dreams."
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound University of Texas at San Antonio commit's instant celebration says it all.
Cinco Ranch rallied from deficits of 3-0, 5-3 and 10-5 to pull off the upset, thanks to Bowles' 4-for-5 effort at the plate. He finished with seven RBI, three doubles and of course the game-winning grannie.
Speaking of grannies, is that his in the final frame of the video? A touching end to an emotional win.
