Annie Pankowski of Stowe (Vt.) North American Hockey Academy  may have been one of the final two cuts for the U.S. Olympic women's ice hockey team that earned silver at the Sochi Olympics, but the 19-year-old helped her country exact a small amount of revenge against Canada this past weekend.

With help from NAHA teammates Caroline Ross and Toni Miano, Pankowski scored this mesmerizing goal on a trick play that deceived goaltender Samantha Ridgewall. The tally gave NAHA a 2-1 lead in the Junior Women's Hockey League semifinals, and Pankowski's squad went on to win 3-2 on Saturday before capturing the JWHL title a day later.

As the clock dipped under seven minutes in the second period, Ross slid a cross-ice pass over Notre Dame's 3-on-5 defense, Miano unleashed a wicked fake slap shot — letting the puck slither through her legs — and Pankowski fired the go-ahead score past Ridgewall.

Pankowski sandwiched a pair of assists around her goal, registering a point on all three NAHA scores. She finished the 16-game JWHL season with a corresponding 16 goals and 16 assists. If this tally was any indication, she won't be cut from the 2018 U.S. women's team that travels to PyeongChang, South Korea.
