It's the kind of back-and-forth scoring streak that rarely happens in Pop Warner football, let alone a significant high school game. Still, don't tell anyone who was watching Philadelphia (Pa.) Prep Charter School take on Philadelphia (Pa.) Future High that scoring four times in 49 seconds is a sign of inferior football. For fans at that game, it was a sign of brilliant special teams execution.

As noted by the Philadelphia Daily News, Prep Charter and Future combined to score an astounding four times in just 49 seconds during the second quarter of an otherwise one-sided 59-6 Prep Charter victory. Here's how it all went down:

First, Prep Charter earned a safety by stopping Future in its own end zone with 10:57 remaining in the period. On the ensuing free kick, Prep Charter return man Anthony Wyche brought the ball back 64 yards for a touchdown. The time on the clock at that point read 10:45.

The subsequent kickoff from that touchdown brought the only Future score of the game, with Future star Khalir Blount bringing the boot back 78 yards for a third trip to the end zone in as many plays. That left 10:31 remaining in the period.

We'll bet you can guess what happened next … except you'd be wrong. Future actually stopped Prep Charter on the third kick in as many plays, but it didn't take long for Prep Charter to get back in the end zone. On the first play of that drive, Wyche was handed the ball and he galloped 48 yards for yet another score, this one leaving 10:08 in the first half.

Cobble all the series together and one comes out with four scoring plays on just two snaps in 49 seconds, a special teams scoring explosion the likes of which may not be seen again for some time.

Then again, maybe a similar feat will unfold with Prep Charter again at the helm. Three return men for the school -- Wyche, Asa Manley and Ronald Stokes -- combined to accumulate 279 yards on seven returns against Future, giving the trio an impressive average of 39.9 yards per return.

That's a good building block for four scores in under a minute, though it takes some feat of execution to actually pull the entire quartet off. That's what Prep Charter had on Friday night, whether or not it ever has it again.
